Attorney SaKinna Thomas

Ms. Thomas went to undergrad at Prairie View A&M University Class of ’ 99 where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with Honors. She received her J.D. in 2002 from Indiana University-Bloomington where she was a CLEO Grad. She graduated in the top 30% of her class and was a member of the Order of the Barristers. She began her legal career at the Marion County Public Defender Agency where she provided criminal defense to indigent people. While a member of the Indianapolis Bar Association and the Marion County Bar association, she worked in the capacity of a coordinator and a trial attorney with the criminal modest means program. Through Ms. Thomas’s pro bono efforts with the criminal modest means program, she successfully won an appeal in which she was trial counsel and appellate counsel in the Indiana Court of Appeals in the case of Melvin Washington v. State of Indiana (Court of Appeals, Indiana, 3/4/2010).

SaKinna Thomas is currently a solo practitioner in Dallas, Texas where she practices Probate, Criminal, Family, and Appellate Law. In addition to her law practice, Ms. Thomas is an adjunct professor at Argosy University where she teaches Forensic psychologist attaining their Master’s Degree on how to effectively testify in court, aid in jury selection, and work as consultants for the court. SaKinna Thomas is an active member of the Dallas Bar Association and the Tarrant County Bar Association. She also remains true to her commitment of providing indigent people access to good legal counsel by actively representing pro bono clients in the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program as well as Texas Lawyers for Texas Veterans.
